Training Of Trainers (Tot) Consultancy- Hygiene Promotion In Public Schools

Introduction

The International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is inviting potential individuals and institutes to provide training for up to 50 trainers on hygiene, food safety, recycling and anti-tobacco/drug as part of the hygiene promotion program in public schools.

Background

Funded by UNICEF, IOCC is working closely with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) to build a strong hygiene system in 61 public schools geographically distributed all over the country.

Building on existing structures and resources, IOCC is looking for qualified Trainer of Trainers to design and implement a training workshop on hygiene promotion for MEHE health educators and IOCC hygiene promoters, aiming to increase knowledge and skills related to hygiene/health promotion in educational settings.

Objective of the ToT

Develop and deliver an up to four-day Training of Trainers to a group of up to 50 trainers. The consultant is required to assist MEHE health educators and IOCC hygiene promoters in building the capacity of MEHE school educators on hygiene/ health education related topics in order to manage properly the health clubs in the targeted schools. The training will be conducted centrally in one location for up to 4 consecutive days (between October 15 and October 30, 2015).

The consultant tasks include but are not limited to:

Develop the training agenda and materials based on set objectives and outputs agreed upon by MEHE and IOCC; Conduct a training for up to 50 trainers including MEHE health educators and IOCC hygiene promoters; The training material should be made available in a user friendly version to be used by the MEHE and IOCC trainers in their trainings in the schools later; Assist in the various logistical/ administrative aspects of the trainings, if needed.

List of topics to be covered:

The training should focus on the following topics:

Hygiene promotion in educational setting, Food safety, Tobacco and drug prevention and awareness, and Recycling.
The final list of topics will be agreed upon with IOCC and MEHE.

Deliverables:

The training materials and agenda submitted to MEHE and IOCC no later than October 15, 2015; The presentation of the training session content including applied methods, best practices related to the topics to be agreed upon; Training materials to be used as part of the ToT as well as materials to be used by the trainees later during their training; A final report including the training content, as well as the evaluation of the four-days training, conclusions and recommendations based on lessons learned for future interventions. Other relevant materials.

Methodology:

Participants: up to 50 participants will join the training including MEHE health educators and IOCC hygiene promoters. Logistics and equipment: projector, flipchart, office supplies and other materials are provided at the request of the consultant in order to ensure efficient completion of the training program.
IOCC will be in charge of identifying the training venue and covering related cost to the training venue.

Language: language of the ToT is Arabic, the content of the training materials distributed to the trainees during the ToT in Arabic, whereas the final report is submitted in English.
