IOM is delighted to announce the publication of a Call for Expression of Interest in the framework of a USAID-funded project entitled “Supporting COVID-19 response and relief at the country level through disbursement and facilitation of sub-grants for selected diaspora organizations”, through which up to 8 sub-grants will be allocated to diaspora organizations who have the capacity to implement COVID-19 related interventions in Lebanon within the timeframe of the project.

Lebanon is at risk of a range of natural hazards. The primary hazards that were taken into consideration under the National Disaster Risk Reduction Plan were forest fires, landslides, and floods, which are classed as frequent events, in addition to seismic risks, which are rarer. Broader research also highlights that Lebanon remains vulnerable to earthquakes, flash flooding, forest wildfires, landslides, tsunamis, winter storms and slow onset droughts. Proposed projects should aim to strengthen resilience and mitigate inter-community tensions in line with the Lebanon Crisis Response Plan (LCRP) and the social stability sector’s strategic objectives.
