Social Media Campaigner

Background:

Fe-Male is a civil feminist collective working with women and girls to eliminate injustice through building a young feminist movement, empowering agents of change, and campaigning together against discriminatory norms and policies.

Fe-Male is currently looking for a “Social Media Campaigner” for a project supported by the Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Middle East and North Africa Region, and funded by the European Union.  The new project titled: “Making UPR process an effective mechanism to break barriers for ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Lebanon” is lobbying for the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities law, and the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The project aims for the increase of Lebanon's commitments to UPR and other international human rights mechanisms regarding rights of persons with disabilities and other elements of the UPR process in public discourse.

Major Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and execute a social media strategy for Fe-Male that focuses on project primary audiences (news media, the general public, donors) and leverages opportunities for greater community engagement;
• Drive production of high-impact social media content that effectively informs and engages external audiences and supports media and advocacy campaigns;
• Strengthen the use of Fe-male's core social media accounts (on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, etc.);
• Lead the Social Media Marketing of the project;
• Manage, according to clear principles, access to project's core social media accounts, ensuring their security and accountability;
• Establish and nurture relationships with media partners (including news organizations, social media companies, and relevant technology leaders) to strengthen project's social media content and help it reach a wide audience;
• Participate in relevant professional meetings and events;
• Ensure high-level message and branding consistency in social media content and platforms;
• Engage key audiences, both in everyday communications work and around major media and advocacy campaigns;
• Coordinate the production, posting, and evaluation of social media content;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Relevant university degree in journalism, communications or related field;
• Gender-sensitive and familiarity with the human rights approach;
• Knowledge of the situation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Lebanon;
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in progressively responsible functions producing, editing and disseminating multimedia content for online audiences;
• Demonstrated ability to write and edit social media posts to a standard high enough for immediate publication;
• Experience producing and interpreting social media analytics to inform strategy and work plans;
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within specified timeframes;
• Proven skills in communication, networking, and ability to relate to different audiences;
• Awareness of best practices in user experiences and design.
