The cultural activities coordinator is a member of Libraries team, he/she reports directly to Beirut Libraries Coordinator.  He/she works closely and cooperatively with the Executive coordinator, librarians, Kotobus animators, Project Manager, Communication officer and Assabil office team.

ASSABIL is recruiting 9 tutors to provide homework and study support for Beirut public school student in grades 4 & 5 via Beirut public municipal libraries for foreign language, Arabic and Math & Science subjects.

The Communications & Social Media Officer will lead, in coordination with the Executive Coordinator and the other staff members, Assabil’s online presence, media coverage, social media outreach, & audience engagement through the organization’s online platforms: Website, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

In order to contribute to the promotion culture for all, the Libraries Coordinator, in coordination with the Executive Coordinator and library staff, will be entrusted with implementing the Assabil Association's mission and vision in the public libraries of Beirut and the mobile library or “Kotobus”. They will ensure the management of the Beirut public libraries, develop libraries’ services and organizing the activities in the libraries for a wide range of audiences.

In order to contribute to the promotion of reading and the development of public spaces for all, the library coordinator will be entrusted with the following tasks: to implement the association's missions and objectives in the public libraries of Beirut and the mobile library or “Kotobus”, to ensure the management of the libraries, develop libraries’ services and organize the activities in the libraries for different audiences. He / she will carry out these tasks under the responsibility of the Executive Coordinator of the association.

Youth Citizen Engagement Program at Public Libraries is a volunteering program that will allow us to extend the opening-hours of the libraries to weekends and weekday evenings and to provide activities to the public. We expect to reach and attract new visitors and potential users to the libraries that we currently can’t reach (migrant workers, working population, etc.) because their schedules don’t enable them to visit the libraries during the current opening-hours. We aim to provide more activities to actual users as children and elders.

As part of ASSABIL team, the project manager supports these efforts in several ways: project concept development and writing of project proposals, project coordination and implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, administrative tasks related to project management under the supervision of the executive coordinator.

ASSABIL is a non-sectarian NGO engaged in promoting cultural participation and knowledge sharing through public libraries and public spaces. We promote reading, unlock imagination and nurture critical thinking, thereby contributing to building well-informed communities.
We develop capacities, network, and share expertise with public libraries, cultural actors, and educational institutions all over Lebanon to ensure that inclusive programming strategies are applied, and state of the art tools and equitable access to knowledge are in place to reach out to those most in need and encourage their

As part of the ASSABIL team, the project Coordinator will support the efforts of ASSABIL in several ways: project concept development, project coordination and implementation, reporting, administrative tasks related to project management under the supervision of the executive coordinator and in coordination with the project management team.
