IWPR is seeking a Social Media Trainer for one of its projects under the current Program. This consultant may travel to MENA locations to conduct Social media training. In line with the vision for this project, IWPR is aiming at enhancing the skills and capacity of civil society activists and journalists through training, mentoring, providing media platforms and other institutional and production support.

The Social media trainer will develop and conduct several trainings for IWPR’s beneficiaries. The social media trainer will also provide tailored technical assistance to support beneficiaries in developing and carrying out their social media campaigns online.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed training plan for a training on the training topic;
  • Prepare thorough training modules on the training topic, covering core sessions on effective social media, together with supportive materials (power point, handouts, toolkits, case-studies, posters etc.) that will be used during the training activity;
  • Conduct the training sessions to engage with activists working in the MENA context in an innovative and interactive way to achieve the training objective;
  • Mentor and support participants during the training session as well as provide support and guidance in the designing and implementation of online social media campaigns that will be developed following the training;
  • Prepare and deliver a training report one week after the completion of training activity highlighting the training delivery process, results achieved, participants’ satisfaction with the trainer and training methodology, main conclusions and recommendations for future activities, etc.;
  • Determine the most effective delivery methods and applicable training instruments for the participant group to achieve the training objective and measurable outcomes, including appropriate adult learning techniques (interactive approach, short lectures, attractive presentations, group work discussions, case studies, etc.)
Experience required: Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: 5-10 years, relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media communications or relative field Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is a must Extensive experience in working on social media in local organizations At least 5 years’ experience in providing social media training (preferred).
Arabic: Very Good English: Very Good French: Basic
Period: 6 months
