Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is looking for an experienced Finance and Administration Manager for our Beirut office.

Overseeing the provision of accounting, finance, and administrative functions including human resources, logistics, procurement, general services/facilities and inventory management, the successful candidate will work closely with and provide support to the main (Beirut) and satellite offices to ensure an effective and efficient financial management system and compliance with all company, government of Lebanon and donor financial and administrative requirements.

You will provide financial analysis and oversight for all resources managed by IWPR in Lebanon, including budgeting and budget-to- actual analysis, and the allocation of shared costs. You will be responsible for financial management, controls and reporting, reviewing and maintaining internal audits, and complying with donor regulations and company policies and procedures, as well as cash management, monthly payroll and statutory deductions and payment.

You will oversee the provision of administrative support including human resources, logistics, procurement, general services/facilities and inventory management, including ensuring that offices are clean and secure and that all required equipment and supplies are available. You will manage the work of assigned staff including financial staff in other countries.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Work toward financial certification a plus. Minimum of five years or progressively responsible work in an international NGO, including managing staff effectively, budgeting, grants management and reporting to donors. Equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of US/EU/UK donor regulations including budgeting and reporting. Demonstrated ability to organize and lead the work of others in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures. 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and judgement. Proven willingness to make timely and sound decisions. 
  • Strong written and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner. 
  • Awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of cross-cultural issues in particularly in representing an international organization. 
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Fluent in English. 
  • Advanced skills in MS Office. 
  • Able to legally work in Lebanon. 
  • Ability to travel internationally 10% of the time.
