Job Description

Line Manager: Protection Officer

Responsible for: Support in assisting the Emergency officer and Community Empowerment Supervisor with a timely and good quality supervision in line with GVC Protection Strategy

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure data are timely collected on ODK and daily uploading
  • Conduct Mobile Field Visits 4 times per week to informal settlements to meet with persons of concern within the community and identify, through focus group discussions, assessment of individual vulnerabilities individuals and other humanitarian needs
  • Conduct data analysis on the identified cases
  • Ensure coordination with the community empowerment staff and daily feedback to the protection team
  • Ensure awareness sessions on protection issues are timely implemented
  • Work to identify and support focal points and families within ITSs ensuring awareness, monitoring activities and follow-up.
  • Keep records of cases in need of urgent protection, legal assistance, Health, WASH and SHELTER related issues
  • Report on forms of child labor and early marriage
  • Ensure information are timely shared with the protection officer
  • Organize weekly plan in coordination with the protection team

REPORTING

Daily and weekly reporting to the Community empowerment supervisor.

  • Highly organised and able to work independently and respecting deadlines
  • Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility and willingness to work long hours
  • Being flexible and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements 
  • Ability to work with team-members with different background
Experience required: Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: Preferably Bachelor degree in Law or social sciences or similar field
Languages
Arabic: Excellent English: Very Good French:
Period: 7 months renewable
Salary: According to experience and GVC salary scale.
