Job Description

The European Centre for Democracy and Human Rights is seeking creative, organized, passionate, and hard-working applicants for the Advocacy Internship position for Spring 2017.



Interns will:

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with the NGO and think tank community in Beirut;
  • Monitor violations of the right to health in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other MENA countries as directed;
  • Carry on extensive research and report writing capabilities;
  • Assist in translation tasks; and
  • Perform administrative and other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • BA (MA preferred) in International Relations, Political Science, or related field a plus;
  • Prior experience working for NGOs and/or advocacy capacity is desired;
  • Extensive research and writing experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment;
  • Experience using social media in a professional capacity; and
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
