Background

The Natural Resources Knowledge Base (NRKB) is a dynamic on-line space that collects and presents knowledge resources about Natural Resource and Conflict Dynamics (Maritime boundaries Legal claims and Settlement Options, Oil & Gas Data and Policy Perspectives, Foreign Relations Mapping, relationship between pipeline routing and strategies & conflict, and the Natural Resources Global Governance).

 Website Features:

  • Country Profiling: Oil & Gas Profile (Gas & Energy consumption, Policy Perspective, International Energy Agreements, Pipelines, oil & Gas fields, Corporations) Foreign Relations (Social and Cultural, Military, Economic, Energy), Conflict Dynamics & Drivers (Timeline of Conflicts, Energy Drivers, Other Drivers)

  • Corporations Identities: Profile, Countries of Operation, Political Economy, Business Practices (Environmental Policies and Records, Political Controversies, Corporation Social responsibility)

  • Natural Resources and Conflict: An examination of the relationship between pipeline routing and strategies, and conflict (includes also Interactive Maps)

  • Resources Global Governance: Petroleum Administration and Management Mechanism, International Regulatory & Resources Organization.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities: Design of the “Natural Resources Knowledge Base (NRKB)”

  • Task 1: Research

    Research similar websites for benchmarking and visual direction including colors, fonts and layout

  • Task 2: Design

    Design website including homepage, subpages, and listed features

  • Task 3: Coordination

    Guarantee quality and precision in collaboration with programmer

Experience required: Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: The Consultant should possess the following minimum qualifications: a. Academic Qualifications: • University degree strictly in Graphic/web Design • Advanced skills of computer based design and use of required software • Very good level of English b. Years of Experience: • At least 8 years of professional working experience in similar design works including mainly website design and online presence & identity • Portfolio should be provided (Samples of latest work from different projects/institutions including but not limited to web design) c. Competencies: • Experience with applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark • Knowledge of web design, content management system and information structuring

Arabic: Very Good English: Very Good French: Basic
Period: 3 months (start date: 20 April 2015)
