ACTED is a French humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development.

Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion.


Under the overall guidance of the Administration/HR Manager, the intern will support the Admin/HR department in administrative tasks, and tasks related to human resources department.


  • Provide support to the Administration Unit in document management system;
  • Provide support to the different sections within the Administration Unit such as:

a-      Travel: support with regard to reservations, ticketing, request of invoices

b-      Assist in ordering stationery and any other kitchen supplies;

  • Assist in drafting/preparing administrative letters;
  • Assist in Guesthouse Management and follow up;
  • Assist in taking phone calls and welcoming guests visiting the Office;
  • Register names of visitors coming for meetings;
    • Assist in checking attendance sheets and arrangement of monthly payroll report for salary payments;
    • Assist in developing ToRs for New staff;
    • Assist in Staff Leave Management /Follow up of staff leaves, provide necessary forms for staff, while needed;
    • Follow up of ACTED HR standards templates in line with ACTED HR Manual/internal regulations;
    • Assist in managing the presence of International staff in Area GH and communicate with logistic dept. to provide necessary requirements;
    • Assist the Admin/HR department with all the required tasks
    • Draft employment contract for new staff and collect all information required for contract.
    • Assist Admin/HR department in filing documents;
    • Create personal folders system for all staff;
    • Ensure that the personal folder database have been updated on regular basis;
  • Assist in preparation of vacancy announcements;
  • Support Country HR Manager/Senior Assistant to search various sources (websites, news papers, education trainings centres) to introduce staff for short terms courses & training.
  • Learning opportunities for the intern

    • General understanding of the work and mission of International Organization,
    • Insight and hands-on experience in Admin/HR role in INGOs;
    • Becoming more familiar with working in an International Organization and in a multicultural environment


    Minimum Qualifications & Experience



    Completed undergraduate degree (Bachelor) or current enrolment in a Bachelor degree or equivalent


    Field of study:

    Fields such as Human Resources, Law, anthropology, sociology, business administration, or other fields of study may be considered;



    Enthusiastic about the role of Internship and ready to learn;

    Good oral and written communications skills in English and Arabic;

    Internet proficiency as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required;

    Applicants are expected to adapt to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment.

    Applicants should show initiative and flexibility;


    Conditions of service:

    The Intern will not be considered in any respect as being a staff member of ACTED and will not accrue benefits. In this regard, the internship will be unpaid and the assignments under the Internship do not carry expectation of conversion to any other type of contract or appointment.
