MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of WaSH Field Supervisor, the WaSH Field Officer (WaSH FO) is responsible to implement, monitor WASH activities and follow them up with the partners and beneficiaries providing WASH technical experience.

  • Knowledge in plumbing, water supply and sanitation supply systems
  • Technical training in implementation of basic water networks, sanitation and water quality

DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

Objective 1: Supervise and implement water supply and basic sanitation at Informal Settlement level 

  • Follow up installation of water tanks, latrines and Centralize Water Systems at different sites working closely with the local partner, providing technical advice and WASH orientation;
  • Monitoring water-trucking and dislodging delivery (volume, quantity and system of delivering), working closely with local partners;
  • Monitoring water quality and chlorination (chemical and bacteriological) at different water points (water tanks, wells, city system, household, etc);
  • Informing and documenting the anomalies and the repairs carried out in the water systems, and the material necessary for the programme’s activities;

Objective 2: Monitoring of Hygiene Kits, water filters and water disinfection tablets distribution.

  • Monitoring NFI (Non Food Items) distribution working closely with the local partner;
  • Collecting beneficiaries list from local partner after distributions;
  • Informing and documenting the anomalies happened during distributions, and possible improvement necessary for the activities;

Objective 3: Data collection and sensitisation campaign.

  • Ensuring understanding and needs of the communities on water and sanitation needs and uses, and coordination with the local partner and Water team on best implementation;
  • Data collection regarding the project and the potentials beneficiaries;
  • Conduct of social mobilization and sensitization;
  • Regular reporting to Head of Project;
  • Data recording and checking;

Objective 4: Monitoring construction activities, water and sanitation connections or any infrastructure related activity

  • Participating in assessments of public networks of water and sanitation, including discussions with different stakeholders, mainly landlords, beneficiaries and Municipalities
  • Follow up installation/ construction of water networks, Sanitation Systems at different sites working closely with the local partners and contractors, providing technical advice and WASH orientation.

Objective 5: Security

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols;
  • Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan;

Objective 6: Support all humanitarian activities of ACF

  • Support the emergency interventions of ACF, as per the employee’s competences;
  • Support any activity that helps reaching ACF humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.


Experience required: Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: Water engineering degree or related.

Period: 3 months initial contract, renewable based on performance
Salary: as per Action Against Hunger salary scale
