Website Re-Design, Development and Maintenance for the

Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE)

The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections seeks a consultant, a company, or an agency with relevant expertise to re-design and re-construct its current website into a comprehensive website that offers a visible web presence for LADE, and offers functionality to its users.

The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) is an independent, non-profit civil society organisation working to enhance the Lebanese democratic system. It has been conducting electoral research, observation, advocacy, and campaigning activities in Lebanon since it was established in 1996. LADE has been officially registered in 2005, and has been committed to enhancing the democracy of elections and safeguarding democratic practices as a key entry point for longer-term positive change and stability in Lebanon ever since. As stated in its bylaws, LADE strives to 1) improve Lebanese electoral laws in accordance with international standards; 2) increase voter awareness and commitment to their electoral rights and duties; 3) monitor elections and ensure their fair implementation based on Lebanese regulations and laws.

The website is used to raise awareness and promote the work of LADE in order to support its success, sustainability and visibility in the region. It is also used as a tool for communication and collaboration between its potential partners and/or donors for the sharing of expertise, knowledge and resources, and to the Lebanese public who are eager for democratic elections in Lebanon.

LADE’s current website ( was designed several years ago. Meanwhile, a new programme cycle has started, and the website layout and structure is now obsolete.

LADE’s website is mainly used for advertising or publishing LADE’s publications, reports, activities, to inform over past events, and possible to advertise calls for proposals or quotations.

Now LADE wishes to develop its website into an information hub and resource center, where its users will find relevant documents, studies or research related to elections in Lebanon. This may include an overview on the current scope of work that LADE does; depository of latest data on elections in Lebanon (be it visual or written); depository of studies and research related to elections; a page for LADE’s activities and events; linkages to other sub-sites/systems for LADE (e.g. LEDA, LADE’s intranet). It will also alert of forthcoming activities and hence invite participation. It may advocate for LADE’s positions on topical issues related to elections in Lebanon. It may invite suggestions and discussions on policy and advocacy questions related to elections. All this will be in addition to the previous, traditional form of the website.
