The Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) is opening a new Migrant Community Center (MCC) in Dora in collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The Center Coordinator will be responsible for launching the center with support from the ARM and MCC coordination teams.

Work Schedule:
- 40 hours (five consecutive work days) per week. 

- The weekly schedule includes most weekends and some weekday evenings (until 8 pm). 

- Two consecutive weekdays off per week.

Job Description:

Team Coordination

  • Managing and supporting the efforts of part-time center staff, interns and consultants.
  • Leading and documenting weekly coordination meetings with center staff.
  • Acting as the focal point of communication with the medical center staff.
  • Submitting comprehensive weekly staff and progress reports.
  • Managing [email protected] email.
  • Arranging the opening and closing of MCC.

Administration

  • Implementing MCC systems at the new center (coordination, communication, membership, programs, volunteering/internship, reporting, policies, etc).
  • Maintaining petty-cash, bookkeeping, and reconciliation for all center expenditures.
  • Preparing purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review quotes for goods/services.
  • Preparing and ordering requisitions for center needs (stationery, groceries, printing, etc.)
  • Liaising with service providers and partners working with members (e.g. medical clinics).
  • Supporting casework logistics and follow-ups as needed.

Programs

  • Implementing and contributing to the development of the MCC annual plan. 
  • Recruiting consultants and volunteers to deliver the education, capacity-building, and community-building programs.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the rights education program.
  • Maintaining up-to-date resources and information accessible for migrant workers.
  • Delivering public information sessions (at schools, universities, outreach activities, etc.)
  • Conducting relevant interviews (with media, researchers, others).
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts for MCC.

Membership

  • Leading and documenting weekly members and community meetings.
  • Acting as the focal point of communication with migrant community leaders/activists.
  • Co-facilitating one-on-one and group membership orientation sessions and activities.
  • Providing direct support to members and visitors (identifying and responding to emerging needs, surveying interests, collecting feedback, resolving challenges, referring cases).
  • Organizing outreach efforts (e.g. street distribution, open day events, online posts).
  • Managing members social media groups (sending announcements in multiple languages, responding to relevant messages, implementing group rules).
  • Ensuring all members nationalities and languages are represented at the center.
  • Arranging for quality translation of all member-related documents and announcements.
  • Organizing, updating, and backing-up members data.

Activities

  • Coordinating regular classes and activities with volunteers (e.g. art, music, computer).
  • Organizing trips and events (tickets, venues, transportation, catering, equipment, contacts) following the specifications, safety measures, and allocated budgets.
  • Overseeing and coordinating responsibilities for all external events (including annual protests, community-building events, advocacy activities, marathons, etc).
  • Coordinating and supporting members-led initiatives and advocacy activities.

Classes

  • Implementing monthly and yearly plans for the education program (arranging for semesters, exams, student outreach, evaluations, meetings, workshops, trainings).
  • Ensuring the education program is of high quality and resources are used effectively in collaboration with MCC staff.
  • Organizing semestrial class schedules and keeping calendars up-to-date.
  • Coordinating semestrial orientation and training of new teachers and volunteers.
  • Outreaching to volunteers, including attending NGO fairs, organizing info-sessions, etc.
  • Implementing systems for the monitoring, evaluation, and recognition of volunteers.
  • Organizing seasonal meetings and team-building activities for all volunteers.
  • Preparing and maintaining volunteer records and reports.
  • Maintaining all class data (attendance sheets, assessment tests, graduations).
  • Regularly updating and maintaining the classes sheets and relevant reporting forms.

Reporting

  • Managing and ensuring the quality of all center reporting systems and deliverables.
  • Sending full, accurate, and timely reports as per set indicators and forms.
  • Producing quality photos and videos of center activities and events.
