Through a four-year programme funded by the European Union, SPARK is strengthening innovation and startup ecosystems, together with two of its strategic partners, IACE (based in Tunisia) and Ruwwad (based in Jordan), and its local partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Tunisia. The programme aims to accelerate the current development trend towards scaling and equipping ecosystems with the means to replicate their best practices. Furthermore, it focuses on enhancing the startup environment in the four countries through advocacy and regional exchange.

SPARK supports higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young, ambitious people to lead their fragile and conflict-affected societies into prosperity. SPARK is a dynamic and growing, international not-for-profit development organisation with 100+ staff members, in more than 14 offices around the world.
SPARK supports refugees in the Middle East by providing them with scholarships in universities and higher education institutions in the region. SPARK also supports young entrepreneurs in fragile states, to start or grow their own businesses.

SPARK is seeking to hire the services of a professional communications service provider for the delivery of high quality photographs and videos. Visual communications materials will be developed in accordance with SPARK communications guideline and donor branding rules. During the duration of 12 months, the service provider is expected to be the main photography and videography focal point for SPARK’s communication activities, and be available when needed.

SPARK is seeking a new partnership to create jobs and support high-growth potential SMEs to scale up their businesses and supporting business owners to improve skills, business owners’ access through action-oriented coaching on main bottlenecks to grown finance and markets to expand their growth-oriented SMEs, which will, led to creation of new jobs. Additionally, by supporting high-growth SMEs access to markets and finances to expand their growth-oriented SMEs will provide longer-term sustainability of their business.

SPARK is seeking to hire the services of a professional media agency for the distribution of press releases in Europe, Middle East, Gulf and Africa. The overall aim of this procurement is to find a media agency able to provide an extensive media visibility of SPARK’s project and donors’ support, through dignified and positive representation of vulnerable communities SPARK works with.

The overall objective of the action is to improve the livelihood options of Syrian refugees, IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host youth through higher education opportunities and increased access to jobs. This is in line with the Action document of the IsDB/AN and its Results Framework.

SPARK with the support of the European Commission is looking for partners who can support on providing existing and emerging innovation support organizations (tech hubs, accelerators, incubators, university hubs, etc.) with capacity building to enhance and diversify start-up services provided. The programme specifically aims to work with organizations working on green entrepreneurship, tech and digitalization and social entrepreneurship. Furthermore, we specifically encourage organizations aimed at women entrepreneurship and empowerment to apply.

SPARK with the support of the ISFD-ISDB is making available $50,000 USD for skills training and internship support for 63 recent graduates (refugees) in Lebanon. The selected 63 youth will be supported with relevant soft skills training preparing them for the labor market after which a selection of 43 will be provided with a 3 month internship. SPARK and the selected partner are seeking to specifically support internships at companies in high potential sectors such as graphic design, IT, online marketing etc.

SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship so that young ambitious people are empowered to lead their post-conflict societies into prosperity. In Lebanon, SPARK has been working to develop the capacity of students and improve their access to higher education, economic empowerment, entrepreneurship and leadership development. Moreover, SPARK supports existing small and medium enterprise (SMEs) to grow and add jobs.
